Criminal Defense
The Office of Public Advocacy provides attorney representation to indigent clients in a wide range of criminal matters, including felonies, misdemeanors, and petitions to revoke probation. OPA attorneys are appointed by the court in instances where the Public Defender Agency cannot represent defendants due to conflict of interest. OPA provides criminal representation within jurisdictions all across the state, with local offices in Anchorage, Palmer, Kenai, Fairbanks, Bethel, and Juneau.
The Office of Public Advocacy can only represent an individual when appointed to do so by the Court.
